Program Notes

Sailing the Straits of Time was written during a positive period during my life, where the future seemed bright and full of promise. Knowing that this feeling would not always persist, I wanted to write a piece that captured this optimism of spirit for posterity. The music is by turns seafaring and wondrous, reflecting the trope of time as a flowing river, whose new horizons are to be embraced rather than feared.
